West Liberty operates a Grade 2 water treatment plant, with over 14 miles of distribution lines. Water is taken from up to 3 wells with a maximum depth of 1,650 feet.
The treatment plant was completely rebuilt in 1989, and houses 2 high service pumps and a trickling filter system. Capacity of the plant is 1.08 million gallons per day, and average usage in the city is .4 million gallons.
The City has been replacing and upgrading mains around the community since 1995 to increase capacity and water quality.
